New Beginnings
Change is good. Refreshing. It makes me feel alive. After the CFA exams last December I’ve been bumming around the house. My daily routine revolved around eating, sleeping, working out, and playing PS3. So much time was on my hands that there was a two week stretch that I played around 5 hours of Final Fantasy XIII a day. I had fun but it just got to a point that I was sick of it.
End of February, I finally got a new job at Citisecurities Inc. in Ortigas Centre. The catalyst I was looking for to set fire to my fire burners and blaze a new trail into the unknown. I’d be finally out of the house, going to a new work place, doing something new, seeing new sites and meeting new people.
Now my day consists of waking up at 715 am, sipping my coffee, taking a bath and leaving the house at 755 am. Thank God for vacation, there’s hardly any traffic in Katipunan avenue. After a breezy 20-30 minutes I arrive in Ortigas Centre, I scan my thumb to log in and the work day begins.
I don’t want to go into detail but basically I work as an equities trader in the Hong Kong market. This is my kind of excitement. I’m exposed to a lot of information and it requires a lot of analysis and research. All the more fun because my brain cells finally get some stimulation.
I get off at 4 pm and if my poor back (which has been a bit of a problem lately) is feeling okay I grab my workout things and work my muscles in the gym. Dinner time comes and it’s time to watch the news on the world’s markets and do a bit of research to prepare for the next day’s work. Then it’s time to turn off the lights at around 12 am.
The work is bound to be daunting and word has it that there’s a low success rate but I think that’s precisely why I like it. I love a good challenge and I’m excited to where this job can take me.
Now if I can just get stupid back pain to go away.
Or maybe I can get my hands on some NZT so I can make like Bradley Cooper in Limitless and grow my money 156 times in a few days!
